We need to develop a series of screens for the parent(s) to communicate with teachers, view their child or children’s positive behavior points, the My Resources section and the My Trainings section.
User Stories:
I am a parent who needs to know my child’s behavior on a daily basis so that I may support the school and my child/ children towards their academic and social/emotional well being.
I am a parent who needs collaborative communicate quickly with my child’s teacher so that there is minimal delay when decisions about my child’s academic and social/emotional well being must be made.
I am a parent who would needs to access additional resources so that I can work with my student(s) at home to further their learning goals.
I am a parent who needs to learn strategies that reinforce my student(s) learning at school so that I may fell empowered to become a great parent to my child.
Acceptance Criteria:
Section 1: Landing Page
Given the user has access to the MTSS platform and clicks on the blue behavior button with the first container, the user is taken to the Behavior section.
Given the user clicks on the VIEW ALL button within the container titled My Resources, the user is taken to the My Resources section.
Given the user clicks on the VIEW ALL button with the container titled My Training, the user is taken to the My Training section.
Given the user selects Home Resources and/or Training from the top Navigation bar, the user is taken to those locations.
Given the user has access to the MTSS suite and has multiple children, the name field contains a down arrow that provides a drop down menu where additional children’s name are listedview of additional children.
Given the user has access to the MTSS suite and has multiple children as the user scrolls with the a highlighted view follows the user’s cursor through the drop down menu for additional children, it highlights to denote the cursor position through the list of childrenso the user can select another child by clicking the illuminated child’s name.
Given the user has access to the MTSS suite and selects an additional student from the drop down menu that has been indicated with a highlight over the students name, the user may click clicks on the highlighted name or select enter to populate the name field with their new selection and its corresponding data.
Given the user has access to the MTSS suite and selects the more button contained within the behavior container, a drop down with the following appears: Login to Student Center, View Credentials.
Given the user activates the drop down menu triggered by the more button within the confines of the MTSS Suite behavior container, the cursor position shows a highlight over the item being considered. Selection is made by clicking the item that is highlighted and user is taken to that corresponding location.
Given that a user has a new message, the notification appears as an orange dot on the top right corner of the icon for new messages and the words “New Message” written to the right of the icon located in the far right of the top navigation bar.
Section 2: New Message Notifications
Given the user selects via a click on either “New Messages” or its corresponding icon indicated by an orange dot, the Inbox notification entering from the right.
Given the user selects via a click on either “New Messages” or its corresponding icon and the Inbox enters from the right, the orange dot will appear next to any new unread messages previews only once with the most recent opening of the inbox.
Given the user views Inbox preview messages, the messages are no more than ? characters in length.
Given the user views preview messages(s) in the Inbox, each preview message is listed with the most recent at the top and contains a date and time stamp.
Given the user views preview messages(s) in the Inbox, any preview messages sent by a teacher are shown as “(Teacher Name) sent you a message.”
Given the user views the preview message(s) in the Inbox, the date and time stamp will appear above each preview message.
Given the user is viewing the Inbox and selects the VIEW link by clicking on it, the user will see the entire message in the dialog screen which enters from the right and replaces the Inbox.
Given the user is viewing the Inbox and selects the Clear option, the message preview and entire message is removed from the inbox and subsequent dialog screen.
Given the user selects the arrow located in the top left of the inbox overlay, the Inbox will close returning to the right of the page.
Given the user types a message in the text entry field and selects the SEND button, the message is sent to the teacher.
Given the user selects the arrow located in the top left of the Dialog overlay, the Dialog will close returning to the right of the page.
Section 3: Behavior Points
Given the user has access to the MTSS suite and clicks on the BEHAVIOR button from the Parent Portal landing page, the user is taken to the points screen.
Given the user enters the point screen, the Points left side navigation is written in blue to show user location within the Parent Portal.
Given the user views the Point screen within the Parent Portal the heading include: Date, Action, Points, Balance at the top of the columns with the most recent appearing first and specific data contained within the columns.
Given the user views the Point screen within the Parent Portal, the green circle below the student’s picture shows the updated point total and is the same as the current balance contained within the log shown.
Given the user responds to the orange dot Points notification by viewing the Points section of the Parent Portal, the orange dot contained in the side navigation menu next to Points disappears after the first view.
Given the student has spent points, the record of the spent points appears with a minus sign and the number of points spent in the Points section of the Parent Portal contained within the points log.
Section 4: Incident Reporting
Given the user selects Incident Reports from the side bar navigation, the user is taken to the Incident Reports section.
Given the user has new Incident Reports for review, the side bar navigation will contain an orange dot next to Incident Reports.

Section One: Landing Page

The user selects navigation from three options including Behavior, My Resources, My Training by clicking the corresponding buttons Behavior, View All, View All within the containers.
The user selects navigation from the My Resources section and the My Training section through the top navigation bar by clicking on the corresponding link.
Users click the down arrow in the field that includes their student’s name to view additional children’s Behavior information.
When the user clicks the More down arrow, the drop down choices of Login to Student Center and View Credentials appear.
Users select navigation to the Login to Student Center and View Credentials by clicking the corresponding drop down option.
Users access new messages by clicking the words “New message or the icon with the orange dot.
Business Rules
The blue behavior button navigates to the behavior section.
The blue View All button within the My Resources container takes the user to the My Resources section.
The blue View All button within the My Training container takes the user to the My Training section.
Selection of Home, Resources or Training in the top Navigation bar takes the use to those locations.
The parent dashboard contains only what the school has purchased. The same business rules apply for the buttons that are the same on each of the landing pages but slide two does not have the MTSS program therefore the parent does not have access to the Behavior resource.
The drop down arrow within the name field is present only if the parent has multiple children and has access to the MTTS suite.
When user clicks on the drop down arrow, additional children’s names appear.
When the user scrolls with the cursor through the drop down menu for additional children, it highlights to denote the cursor position through the list of children.
When the user selects enter or clicks on the highlighted name of another child in the drop down menu, the name field populates with that child’s name and corresponding data.
Selection by clicking the more arrow drop down triggers the drop down options of Login to Student Center and View Credentials.
User selection by clicking on the drop down option of Login to Student Center takes the user to the Login to Student Center.
User selection by clicking on the drop down option of View Credentials takes the user to the View Credentials.
Users are alerted to a new message by the appearance of the orange dot in the top right corner of the icon and the label “New message” within the top navigation bar to the far right position.
User selection by a click on either “New message” or the icon opens the dialog box entering from the right.

The new message is indicated with an orange circle located to the left of the message preview containing ? number of characters.

Each message contains an option to view which when clicked by the user links to the user to see the full message.
Each message preview contains a clear option which when clicked removes the message.
Selecting the arrow in the top left on the Inbox overlay closes the Inbox overlay moving it to the right and off the screen.
Activated by the user click, selection of the VIEW link replaces the Inbox notification with the dialog box which enters from the right.
The dialog box contains a picture of the teacher and heading that reads “Conversation with (Teacher’s Name).
Below the “Conversation with (Teacher’s Name)” is the “Type your message” prompt and the field for entry of text.
The “Type your message” entry field contains a maximum of ? number of characters.
Users type their message and select the SEND button with a click to send the message to the teacher.
The teacher correspondence appears below the user text entry field.
The image of the teacher appears to the left of the teacher message contained in a blue box.
The date and time stamp appear above the teacher message.
The teacher message appear in a blue dialog box below the text entry field
Selecting the arrow in the top left on the Dialog overlay closes the Dialog overlay moving it to the right and off the screen.
Section Three: Behavior Points

User selects the BEHAVIOR button from the landing page of the parent portal and is taken to the Points page.
Users view specifics about Behavior points including dates, any actions, points earned or spent and the resulting balance.
Users view the current number of points the student has within the quick view green circle.
Users see the orange dot next to the Points left side navigation menu as an alert of updates to points.

Business Rules
With activation of a user click on the BEHAVIOR button from the parent portal landing page, the user is taken to the Points page.
Points in left side navigation is blue to indicate user placement within Parent Portal.
Information contained within the points chart is displayed with the most recent item first.
Updates to points are shown with the corresponding date, action, points earned or spent and the resulting balance.
Spent points are indicated with a minus sign and the number of points in red. Example (-20)
Quick view green circle total points must match the most recent balance.
Orange dot next to the left side Points Navigation indicates an update to the points balance and disappears when user views the points screen.
Final screen shows use case where no points have been earned. Same business rules apply.
Section Four: Incident Reporting
