Lesson Library (Trauma-Sensitive)

We need to add the trauma lessons to the library. These lessons are designed to help educators help their students in response to a traumatic event.


Filter

Design

  • In the Lesson Library, add a new Domain under SEL called Trauma-Sensitive. The filter options are as follows:

    • Lesson Type: SEL

    • Tier levels: All Tiers, Tiers 1 & 2, Tier 3

    • Grades: PreK, Kindergarten, Grades 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12

    • Domains: Under Self-Care, add a new domain called Trauma-Sensitive

    • When user selects Trauma-Sensitive, the Areas filter opens up and the 4 area options are listed in the following order: Emotions, Stress-management, Support Systems and Resilience.

Business Rules

  • These options will show for all users with access to SEL SEL lessons.

  • Utilization reporting works exactly the same way as current SEL lessons.


Prep/Overview

Design

  • Under Actions, when user selects Prep, please see mock-up below

  • Some of the redesign affects current SEL lessons as well. They include: Left justifying the text, moving the View Lesson Plan, Teacher Training, and Teach Lesson buttons to the top of the page

  • There can be up to a max of 12 separate lesson materials (downloadable PDFs). Teacher Resource, Student Resource and Home Connection should appear on the first column on the left, as shown below. Additional Practice and Dive Deeper materials should be sequenced from top to bottom for each column, as shown below. Tier 2 materials should always be last.

  • Lesson Plans section will show for Trauma lessons only. This section will not show for other SEL lessons.

      • FOR TRAUMA LESSONS ONLY. OTHER SEL GEN ED Lessons will only have Tier 1, Tier2, Academic Connections, Home Connections.

      • Not every Trauma lesson will have all 12 items shown here. The number of items here will vary depending on the lesson. There will be a column for each item in the content upload spreadsheet. If the column is blank, that means there are no printable materials for that item and therefore, should not appear on the prep page. For example, a lesson might only have Teacher Resource, Home Connections, Practice 2, Practice 5, Dive Deeper 2, Tier 2

    • Tier 3

      • FOR TRAUMA LESSONS ONLY. OTHER SEL SPED Lessons will only have Tier 3 and Home Connections.

      • Not every Trauma lesson will have all 9 items shown here. The number of items here will vary depending on the lesson. There will be a column for each item in the content upload spreadsheet. If the column is blank, that means there are no printable materials for that item and therefore, should not appear on the prep page. For example, a lesson might only have Student Resource, Home Connections, Learn 2, Practice 1, Dive Deeper 1

  • The online icon is new and the image file is attached in Salesforce. This icon only appears for the Trauma lessons

  • When user clicks on the 3 dots found under Actions, on the right-hand side of the SEL lesson library screen, the options that appear should be listed as follows:

    • Prep

    • Assign Lesson

    • Assign Learn Video

    • Assign Practice 1

    • Assign Practice 2

    • Assign Practice 3

    • Assign Practice 4

    • Assign Practice 5

    • Assign Practice 6

    • Assign Dive Deeper 1

    • Assign Dive Deeper 2

    • Assign Student Resource

    • Add to Playlist

  • Note: Trauma lessons do NOT come with quizzes.

Business Rules

  • Prep, Assign Learn Video, and Add to Playlist will show for all SEL lessons

  • Assign Lesson will only show if the user also has access to Skills

  • Remaining Assignments

    • Varies depending on the lesson. On the content upload spreadsheet, there will an ASSIGN Y/N column next to each item that indicates whether there is an activity to assign to the Student Center. YES indicates there is an activity to assign, NO indicates there is not activity to assign. If NO, do not show the assign option under Actions.
