Payroll Export Enhancements: Disabled Download Button & New Email Delivery Functionality

In response to users reporting performance-related issues when generating large data payroll export downloads, we have added two updates to improve the user's experience that will also help improve our system performance:

1. Updated “Download” button

2. Disable download button

3. Export email functionality

Learn more about the details below:

• Navigate to the Reporting Dashboard

• Click on ‘Payroll Export’

• The download button is now Blue and displays with the text Download Now. (previously “download file”)

After the user clicks on the “Download Now” button it will turn grey and be disabled until the report is generated.

Good to Know:

• The button will remain disabled until the report for the selected date range is either downloaded onto the user's computer or an email is sent (See New Email Delivery Functionality feature below).

• By disabling the button users will easily know that their request is in process.

• The download button will also become actionable if the user enters different report dates. This way multiple reports can still be run if needed.

• If a report is still pending for one user, when different users log into the payroll export the download now button will be actionable.

  • For now, if a report is in the process of being generated for one user and other users select the same report dates, the button will be greyed out for all users. This issue will be addressed in an upcoming enhancement.

• If the user reloads the page or navigates away from the page and back while a report(s) is generating, the ‘Download Now’ button will remain greyed out and all filter selections will remain set for any ongoing reports until the export is downloaded or emailed.

New Email Delivery Functionality

• Navigate to the Reporting Dashboard

• Click ‘Payroll Export’

• Select a date range and requirements

• Click ‘Download Now’

• If system presents the following warning, click ‘Yes’

• If the selected report contains approx 200+ records, the system will generate a pop up window that will display the logged-in users email in their staff profile. The user may update the email if needed.

Good to Know:

• The ‘Download Now’ button will remain disabled until the report for the selected date range is sent to the email address entered

• Users can run a report with different dates while the email report is being generated. The download button will become actionable when the new dates are selected

• An email with a link to the report will be sent within 2-15 minutes depending on the size of the report

• If the system fails to send the report, the button will become actionable

• The link to the export will expire 3 hours from the time sent
