Administrative set up of parent permissions:

Go to the company account, select roles, select role 5, and edit role 5 permissions.

Set up all parent permissions in the company account area of Rethink. There are default permissions checked off, however these settings can be customized for all parent access.

Watch this overview below to help with you with the parent permission set up:

Providing parent access is very simple and can greatly improve communication between the provider and parents.

2

Clinical Set Up of the Parent Portal

Prior to granting individual parent access, make sure all skill acquisition goals, behavior support goals, and the file cabinet are ready for parent access.

Watch this video below to help guide you with your clinical set up of the parent portal and which areas to highlight for parents:

*Make any changes needed to skill acquisition or behavior plans that might be helpful to parents before giving them access.

*Set up shared folders in the file cabinet to share documents with parents

*Create and/or upload custom data sheets for parents and add to the shared folders.

3

Granting Parent Access as a Contact

The next step is granting individual parent access for each client:

To add a parent as a contact, go to the client info tab under the client/child and add a new contact.

For parents with multiple children in Rethink, a contact needs to be set up with each child using a different email address for each contact listed under a child. Each email address may only be used once.

Fill in all information needed, don’t forget the email address, this is critical for setting up a parent.

Check the “Create System Log In for Contact” box at the bottom and press add/save.

The parent will next receive a registration email with a verification code from Rethink. They need to create their log in within 48 hours.

Watch the video below to help guide you through granting a parent access to Rethink:

If a parent/contact does not create their log in within 48 hours, to reset their registration, follow these steps:

1. Go to the contact information on the website.

2. Recheck the “Create System Log in for Contact” checkbox and Press Save.

3. The parent should then receive a new registration email from Rethink, remind the parent to make sure they log in within 48 hours of receiving the email.

4

Parent Access

After a parent has created their log in and logs in for the first time, they will have access to lesson plans, behavior plans, and many other great resources. Watch the video below to see what parent access will look like.

*Along with resources, lesson plans, and behavior plans, parents may have access to the Intro to Autism & ABA Training, the RBT training is only an option for staff members, not parents.

*Clinicians can track how parents are completing the Intro to Autism & ABA training by viewing their scores in the Detailed Training Report in the Reporting Dashboard.
