Customize Data Settings and Mastery Criteria

Let's get started...

  1. Select or match lessons to IEP goals or areas of need for your student
  2. Add lessons to your students Learning Plan from the Lesson Library
  3. Go to your students Learning Plan and start to customize data settings and mastery criteria for your students’ lessons by following these steps…

Step 1: Customizing Data Settings

  1. Once in the Learning plan, select the lesson on the left hand side that you need to edit/customize.
  2. Click Edit Lesson on the right hand side of the lesson.
  3. Scroll down to “Data Settings & Targets”
  4. Select the Data Collection Type depending on the type of skill and data needed
  5. Click Edit on the right hand side of the lesson
  6. Scroll down to “Data Settings & Targets”
    1. Customize data collection type
    2. Customize settings
    3. Customize mastery criteria
  7. Select the Collection Type and the Setting depending on the type of skill and data needed.

    1. . Opportunity Based (recording for each trial or opportunity) with or without prompts
      1. Opportunity Based with Prompts

When entering prompts, here are a few recommendations:
        •  Enter the prompts from least to most restrictive (least/correct response at the top and the most restrictive at the bottom)
        • Enter the prompt name
        • Enter the code
        • Save the sequence once complete Example: Independent, Gestural, Physical, No Prompt, & Incorrect Response

      2. Opportunity Based without Prompts

    2. Task Analysis with or without prompts (breaks a skill down into discrete steps)
        • Backwards Chain
        • Forward Chain
        • Total Task Presentation

      1. Task Analysis with prompts

      2. Task Analysis without prompts

    3. Duration: no specific setting options needed (how long a skill or behavior occurs).

    4. Frequency or Rate: no specific setting options needed (number of occurrences of a behavior/skill in a period of time).

    5. Interval: setting options listed below i.
      1. Partial Interval (behavior/skill occurred anytime during the interval)
      2. Whole Interval (behavior/skill occurred throughout the whole interval)
      3. Momentary Time Sample (behavior/skill is occurring the moment that time interval ends)

Partial, Whole, and Momentary Time Sample (all types of interval will give you the same options for editing your setting and mastery criteria)

Step 2: Customize Mastery Criteria

  1. If selecting Opportunity Based, set mastery criteria by:
    1. Min # Trials
    2. %
    3. Consecutive Sessions

  2. If selecting Task Analysis, set mastery criteria by:
    1. % (100% is recommended)
    2. Consecutive Sessions

  3. If selecting Duration, set mastery criteria by:
    1. # of times per sec/min/hour
    2. Per session/per day
    3. Consecutive sessions

  4. If selecting Frequency/Rate, set mastery criteria by:
    1. Min/Max # occurances
    2. Per min/hour/session/day
    3. Consecutive sessions

  5. If selecting Interval, set mastery criteria by:
    1. #intervals
    2. Min/sec/hours
    3. Least/Most % of intervals
    4. # of consecutive sessions

  6. Save all changes made to the lesson with data collection, settings, and mastery criteria options.
