We need to include subsets specific to math content. Page includes specifications for placement levels and unique fields for grade levels

Similar to Renaissance

  • Scale Score with placement categories for an overall assessment.

    • Renaissance Placement Categories (4): At/Above, On Watch, Intervention, Urgent Intervention

    • iReady Placement Categories (3 to 5): Mid/Late Grade Level, Early Grade Level, 1 Grade Level Behind, 2 Grade Levels Behind, 3 Grade Levels behind

      • Grade K has Mid/Late Grade Level, Early Grade Level, 1 Grade Behind

      • Grade 1 / 2 have Mid/Late Grade Level, Early Grade Level, 1 Grade Behind, 2 Grades Behind

      • Grades 3 + have all 5 levels

Impact to Design:

Overall reporting can remain with the same structure/graphs and only rename placement categories. Will need to match with user’s selection of Tiers for placement categories and carry throughout District/Building/Classroom/Student views. As the grade level increases, there are more placement categories to match to a tier selection similar to Renaissance with 4 categories. We may want new hover items to explain which placement categories are included within a tier. Unlike Renaissance where Tier/Placement Categories are consistent throughout the year, iReady users may want the Tier / Placement categories to change as the student progresses through the school year.

Consider:

  • Settings---reflective of 3 testing windows matching Tier Levels to Placement Categories that differ with the grade levels.

  • Tier Levels/Placement categories do not remain consistent for entire year.

  • Could we place a dot to represent the student’s scaled score within the placement category showing where their scale score falls so user can see how close/far away it is from additional placement categories?

Different From Renaissance

  • iReady extends scale score and placement categories to 4 subsets within math.

  • Ren does have subsets but we didn’t get those fields for MVP. Future development could include these.

Impact to Design / Consider:

Student View Graphs: There could be more than just an overview graph. Showing subset’s scale score and/or placement categories throughout each testing window helps to determine next steps with Intervention plans.

Math subsets

Field Name: number_and_operations_scale_score

Field Description: This is a scaled score specific to a subset (Number and Operation) and also included in each of the tests (Fall, Winter, Spring)

Value: Helps user to see where the student is in each domain specific skill set for the content area. Helps to select Domains for Intervention Plans.

Field Name: number_and_operations_relative_placement

Field Description: This shows the student’s subset placement using up to the 5 Level Placements based on their scale score and is included for each test (Fall, Winter, Spring).

Value: Helps user to see where the student is in each domain specific skill set for the content area. Helps to set up Intervention Plan Goals within a specific domain and grade band.
