We need to make adjustments to the way we assign SEL assessments, videos, activities, and quizzes to students so that users do not need to select each individual student.
User Stories:
As an admin, I want to assign the SEL assessment/videos/quizzes/activities to a large group of students, so that I can control the assignment at the district level.
As a teacher, I want to assign the SEL assessment/videos/quizzes/activities to a large group of students, so that I do not have to assign to each individual student.
General Concept
Design
When a user clicks on assign for the SEL student self-assessment, SEL student video, SEL activity, or SEL quiz, they will see the assign screen asking them to decide if they’d like to assign by building, classroom, grade, or student
The user will click on the pill tab to determine how they would like to assign
Business Rules
Users marked is admin role will see the building pill tab
Users with access to at least 1 classroom will see the classroom pill tab
Building
Design
When a user clicks the Building pill tab, they will see a list of buildings.
The user will click the slider to select/deselect a building.
When the slider is selected (green), the assessment is assigned
When the slider is deselected (white), the assessment is unassigned
If the assessment/quiz/video/activity has already been assigned to a building, the slider will show as selected for that building
The user may select multiple buildings.
If the user clicks select all, all buildings will be selected
The user will click save when done.
Business Rules
Users marked is admin role will have the ability to assign by building
Users will only see the buildings to which they have been assigned
Users will only see buildings that have been allocated UNLIMITED SEL SEL student licenses
If a user assigns to Building A, all students in Building A will be assigned the assessment/video/activity/quiz
If a student in Building A has already been assigned the assessment, they will be skipped. We will not create a duplicate assignment.
If a student in Building A has already been assigned the video/activity/quiz and has not yet completed it, they will be skipped. We will not create a duplicate assignment.
When assigning the SEL assessment, we will only assign the assessment to students in grades 3-12.
Classroom
Design
When a user clicks the Classroom pill tab, they will see a list of classrooms.
The user will click the slider to select/deselect a classroom.
When the slider is selected (green), the assessment is assigned
When the slider is deselected (white), the assessment is unassigned
If the assessment/quiz/video/activity has already been assigned to a classroom, the slider will show as selected for that classroom
The user may select multiple classrooms.
If the user clicks select all, all classrooms will be selected
The user will click save when done.
Business Rules
Users with access to at least 1 classroom will have access to the classroom pill tab
Non-admin users will only see the classrooms to which they have been assigned

Users will only see classrooms that belong to buildings that have been allocated SEL SEL student licenses
If a user assigns to Classroom A, all students in Classroom A will be assigned the assessment/video/activity/quiz

When a user clicks the Grade pill tab, they will see a list of grades.
The user will click the slider to select/deselect a grade.
When the slider is selected (green), the assessment is assigned
When the slider is deselected (white), the assessment is unassigned
If the assessment/quiz/video/activity has already been assigned to a grade, the slider will show as selected for that grade
The user may select multiple grades.
If the user clicks select all, all grades will be selected
The user will click save when done.
Business Rules
Users will assign to all students they have access to in the selected grade(s)
Only students who belong to buildings in which UNLIMITED SEL SEL student licenses have been allocated will be assigned
If a user assigns to Grade 3, all students the user has access to in Grade 3 will be assigned the assessment/video/activity/quiz
If a student in Grade 3 has already been assigned the assessment, they will be skipped. We will not create a duplicate assignment.
