Custom ELA or Math Goal | Goal-Intervention Bank | Admin Settings

Overview

The Goal-Intervention Bank in the Admin Settings populates the Goals and Interventions in the Intervention Library. Admin are able to create custom goals and interventions that are district approved to display in the Intervention Library.

User Story

As an admin user I want to create a new ELA or Math Goal-Intervention to add to the list of goals and interventions so that I can ensure we are implementing district-approved interventions.

UI Description

Create New Button

  • Opens ‘Create New Goal’ modal. The new goal is a custom goal.

    • The table list is organized by the list provided by Content

    • The table list is organized first by alphabetical (ABC) order by category.

    • The table list is organized second by alphabetical (ABC) order by Goal text.

  • Cancel button: No changes are saved and any changes made will return to the original state before edits were made

  • Save Button: New Goal is Saved and user navigates to the Goal-Intervention Bank Settings list.

Status Input Field

  • Required Field

  • Dropdown menu (single-select): Active, Inactive

  • Default: Active

Goal Input Field

  • Required Field

  • Text entry input field: User types in text entry input field to enter Goal text.

Subject Input Field

  • Required Field

  • Dropdown menu (single-select): ELA, Math, Behavior, SEL

Category

  • Required Field

  • Combined Text Entry and Dropdown menu input field (single-select)

    • Placeholder text that is typed over or replaced: Add or Create Category

    • Dropdown menu includes default system (RethinkEd) categories for the given subject area.

    • User selects category from dropdown menu to select category and fill input field.

    • User types a custom category in the combined text entry and dropdown menu to create a custom category.

Grade

  • Required Field

  • Dropdown menu input field (multi-select)

    • Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12, Not Applicable

    • User selects checkbox to select the grade level(s)

System Interventions

  • Label for Input Field: System Interventions

  • Input Field: Dropdown Menu with placeholder text ‘Add Interventions’

  • Dropdown Values: Intervention Strategies (System-RethinkEd) for the selected subject and grade level(s).

  • Display an intervention chip for each selected intervention strategy below the System Interventions input field. Each intervention chip will have an 'X' to remove the Intervention Strategy from the Goal.

Custom Interventions

  • Heading: Custom Interventions

  • ‘Add New’ button: Displays container to create a custom intervention strategy for the custom goal with title input field and short description input field.

  • Container Heading: Intervention #

    • Display the number of added custom interventions in numerical order.

    • Example: User selects ‘Add New’ to add ‘Intervention 1’. The user selects ‘Add New’ and the next container section is ‘Intervention 2’.

  • Delete Icon: Removes the Intervention Container from the modal.

  • Title Text Entry Field: User types text to enter an Intervention Strategy title

  • Short Description Text Area Input Field: User types text to enter a short description for the Intervention Strategy. The input field will support multiple lines of text.

User Interaction and Validation Notes

  • Status: Active Goals will display in the MTSS Intervention Library. If a user selects a status of Inactive, the goal and intervention(s) will not be visible in the Intervention Library upon creation. The user must Edit the goal and change the status to ‘Active’ to make it available in the Intervention Library.

  • Goal Text Validation Warning Error: If goal text field is not complete, user will see a validation warning message when clicking Save button. The missing fields will outline in red and the warning message will read: Please check for missing fields.

  • Subject Validation Warning Error: If Subject field is not complete, user will see a validation warning message when clicking Save button. The missing fields will outline in red and the warning message will read: Please check for missing fields.

  • Interventions Validation Warning: At least one Intervention needs to be added to an Admin Custom Goal. If the Admin selects a System Intervention, the Custom Intervention is not a required field. If the Admin Selects and adds a Custom Intervention, the System Intervention is not a required field.

  • Validation Warning Error for Incomplete Fields: If one or more input fields is not complete, user will see a validation warning message when clicking Save button. The missing fields will outline in red and the warning message will read: Please check for missing fields.

  • System Intervention Strategy: The user will select on or more RethinkEd interventions from the System Interventions dropdown menu to include with their custom goal. When the user selects an Admin Custom Goal in the Intervention Library in the MTSS Plan, the RethinkEd interventions selected will display all connected information. For example: Intervention Strategy, Focus Area (If Applicable), and Implementation Card(s).

  • Custom Intervention: The Admin user can add Custom Interventions to their custom Goal. The Admin user will select the “Add New” button below Custom Interventions heading to add input fields for an Intervention Title and Description. When the user selects an Admin Custom Goal in the Intervention Library in the MTSS Plan, the admin custom interventions will display in the Intervention Strategies screen of the modal in the “District Created Interventions” section.

  • Duplicate System Goal: The Admin user can duplicate a system (RethinkEd) goal to create a custom goal. Upon selecting ‘Duplicate’, the ‘Create New Goal’ modal displays with all input fields pre-filled from the system (RethinkEd) goal. The user can make changes to the input fields to create their custom goal. The ‘Create New Goal’ modal will have the System Intervention Strategy dropdown menu and Custom Intervention options.

  • Edit Goal Modal: The Admin user can ‘Edit’ a Custom Goal. Upon selecting ‘Edit’ on a Custom Goal, the ‘Edit Goal’ modal displays with the input field pre-filled with the Goal information. The Edit Goal modal will have the Intervention Strategy table and Custom Intervention options.

Workflow Description

  1. Admin navigates to Setup > Account Settings > Goal-Intervention Bank

  2. Create New: Admin selects Create New button to open the Create New Goal modal.

  3. Input Field Selections: Admin completes the input fields for Status, Goal, Category, Subject, Grade, and Intervention Strategies.

    • Intervention Strategies: Admin can select from the list of RethinkEd Intervention Strategies to include with the custom goal. Admin can also create custom interventions that include a title and description to include with the goal.

  4. Save or Cancel: The user selects Save to save the goal and intervention(s) to the Goal-Intervention Bank or selects Cancel to navigate to the Goal-Intervention Bank list without making any changes.
