User Story:

As a special education teacher or school administrator, I want to monitor and track a student’s progress toward their goals, so that I can ensure they are meeting academic standards, adjust objectives if necessary, and make data-driven decisions to support their learning.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. Goal and Objective Review

    • User can view a student’s goals and specific objectives =

    • User can edit or add new objectives for the student as needed.

  2. Standards Alignment

    • User can attach educational standards (e.g., CC1.1.4.E) associated with the student’s reading goals to ensure alignment with curriculum requirements via text box

  3. Data Collection and Tracking

    • User can view a graphical representation of the student’s reading progress (e.g., CWPM, accuracy) over time.

    • User can track metrics like the number of correct words per minute and accuracy across consecutive sessions.

    • User can edit or update data collection settings to adjust for changes in the student's progress.

    • The data graph and table should reflect accurate tracking of progress toward mastery criteria (e.g., 90 CWPM and 96% accuracy over 3 of 4 consecutive tasks).

  4. Notes

    • User can review existing notes left by teachers on the student's progress (e.g., interruptions or assessment feedback).

    • User add new notes or edit existing ones to document relevant observations or updates about the student's learning experience via text box

  5. Goal Escalation

    • User can escalate a goal if the student is not making adequate progress, prompting additional intervention or support.

    • User can access related materials or notes for further guidance on how to assist the student in achieving their goals.

  6. Save and Monitor Progress

    • User can save any changes made to the student’s goals, objectives, and data settings.

    • User can continuously monitor the student’s progress using the graph and data table to ensure they are on track.

High Level Flow:

  1. Navigate to Select “View” from Classroom List Page> User accesses “Goals and Analytics Landing Page”

  2. User can Review current goals, objectives, and data collection

  3. User can customize goals or objectives and add/edit educational standards - functionality will be built in Phase 2 of project

  4. User can Monitor student performance using data tracking and graphing tools

  5. User can Add or update notes based on student progress and assessments

  6. User Can Take action as necessary (e.g., escalating a goal or adjusting data collection settings) - funtionality will be built out in Phase 2 of project
