Overview: With the launch of the new SEL and MH content and a new structure, the way that student center assignments are reset needs to be updated. The new logic we are proposing will make it easier for the internal Professional Services team because they will not have to manually reset the assignments in the student center for each account. The new logic will add a setting in the Admin Settings > School Year Calendar so that it makes the process automatic to reset the student center assignments at the end of the school year, similar to how the Behavior Points reset at the end of the school year. The new logic will replace the 'Unassign Assignments' in jrich.

As a RethinkEd admin user, I need a way to select a date for assignments to reset in the student center, so that students start with a clean slate in their student centers in the next school year.

Default: Checkbox is unselected and the Student Center Reset container is disabled (50% opacity)
Checkbox selected enables the Student Center Reset container to 100% opacity for the user to make selections

Description Text: ‘The Student Center Reset helps you manage Student Center assignments at the end of the school year. If you choose to reset, all student center assignments will be cleared on the date you select. If you decide not to reset, the assignments will stay in the Student Center and carry over to the next year.’
Single Select Radio Button Options:
Last Day of School (Mon DD, YYYY)
Default selection upon selecting Reset Student Center checkbox
Last day of ESY
Disabled if the Extended School Year time period is not selected in settings
Enabled to select when the Extended School Year time period is turned on in settings
Custom Date
Display date picker component selection to the right of the ‘Custom Date’ label text. The date will default to the day after the last day of the school year established in School Year Calendar settings.
User can select from the day after the last day of the school established in the School Year Calendar settings and up to 35 days after this date.
User Interaction and Validation Notes
The highest level admin role (7 or 5) will have access to the Admin Settings > School Year Calendar with the ability to select or deselect the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting.
Verify that when the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting is selected, all assignments in the student center for each student are reset (cleared) on the date that is selected by the admin.
Verify that when the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting is deselected, all assignments in the student center for each student carry over to the next school year.
Verify that the admin user has the ability to select or deselect the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting in Admin Settings > School Year Calendar at any time in the school year prior to the last day of the school year.
Reset Student Center Setting Deselected: Default is deselected. Users need to select the setting to enable the feature.
Reset Student Center Setting Selected: The default selection is the ‘Last Day of School’ option.
Workflow Description
Log in to Admin Account.
Select Setup > Account Settings > School Year Calendar
Scroll to the bottom of the School Year Calendar Settings and choose to select or deselect the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting.
User selects ‘Reset Student Center’ setting and date to reset the student center.
The user saves and can return to the settings to modify the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting prior to the last day of the school year.
The Student Center Assignments will be reset on the selected date if the ‘Reset Student Center’ setting is selected.
