Permissions (Family Portal)

We need to make some changes to the Roles area to accommodate family members


Add Permission Setting

UI

  • Under Goal Library and View Content, we need to add a permission setting called Assign

  • We will remove the settings for:

    • Add SEL lessons to child’s learning plan

    • Assign SEL Quizzes

Business Rules

  • When Assign is enabled, a user will be able to assign lessons, quizzes, videos, and activities

  • Any user role who was previously allowed to Add sel lessons to child’s learning plan or assign SEL quizzes will have permission to Assign under both the Goal Library and View Content

  • Assign will be enabled for the following default roles:

    • Role 7

    • Role 6

    • Role 5

    • Role 4

    • Role 3

    • Multi-Account Lead

    • Multi-Account Teacher

    • Case/Manager/Lead Teacher


Create New Role

UI

  • We will create a new role called Family Member. This is a multi-account role and will replace the Parent/Home Caregiver role

Business Rules

  • This role will maintain the same permissions as the current parent/home caregiver role but will now exist at the parent account (limited buildings). This will allow parents to be linked to students in multiple buildings.

  • All users currently in the parent/home caregiver role will be linked to the building they currently have access to.
