Calculating the score position above the level for student report
The rule for placing the score value on score reports is to take the lower bound and upper bound score values within a given level, compute the range; and determine how far into the range an individual’s score is. For example, if the lower bound for a level is 5 and the upper bound is 10, the range is 5. If an individual’s score is 8, we would subtract the range from that score and divide by the range: (8-5)/5 or 3/5. The resulting value would tell us where to place the score value. In this example, it would appear 3/5 past the beginning of the graphic for that level.
In the case where there is only one value for a level, the score value should appear at the end of the graphic for that level.
