We need to show an overview of the student’s progress which includes student profile information, and past / present assessment results from the state and district level. . This report suggests/anticipates what the student needs and guides the user through selecting appropriate tools/resources for the student in the areas of Reading, Math, Behavior, and Social/Emotional (Well being).

Risk Report Overview

User Story

As a teacher viewing the risk report, I need to see the overall picture of a specific student’s background information including the Student Details, Academic Needs and Other Details so that I can quickly “get to know” the student before responding to the needs in each of the categories (ELA, Math, SEL, Behavior, Attendance).

UI:

  • To access the student’s risk report, users click on (TBD location).

  • To view the Accommodations and Services selected for a specific Academic Needs, user clicks on or hovers over Details button.

Student Details Category

  • Given that student details information (unrequired fields: Gender, Ethnicity, Birthday) is not included on the Student Profile, then we will not list those categories in the Default Student Details section.

    • Default Student details contains:

      • Student ID

      • Birthday

      • Gender

      • Grade

      • Ethnicity

Academic Needs Category (Do we need a set list for accommodations and services for each of the academic needs?)

  • Given a student has an Academic Need selected on the student profile, then we will show it listed under Academic Needs.

  • Given a student does not have an Academic Need selected on the student profile, then we will not show it listed under Academic Needs.

  • Given a student has no Academic Needs selected on the student profile, then we will not show the Academic Needs Heading.

  • Given a student has an Academic Need listed on the Student Risk Report, we will include a hover/click labeled details that reveals the the Accommodations and Services selected for the Academic Need. (See image: Details Button-504 Selected)

  • Academic Needs include:

ELL Status

  • Given a student has an ELL Status of any of the following selected on the student profile: Entering, Emerging, Developing, Expanding, Bridging THEN we will show ELL under Academic Needs.

  • Given a student has ELL Status on the Student Risk Report, we show the ELL Level (Entering, Emerging, Developing, Expanding, Bridging) on the risk report

  • Given a student has ELL Status on the Student Risk Report, we will include a hover/click labeled details that reveals the Accommodations and Services selected for the ELL Level (at least one Accommodation/ Service is required).

  • Given a student does not have ELL Status selected on the student profile, then we will not show ELL under Academic Needs.

IEP Status

  • Given IEP is selected from the student profile, then we will list IEP under Academic Needs

  • Given a student has IEP on the Student Risk Report, we will include a hover/click labeled details that reveals the Accommodations and Services selected for the IEP (at least one Accommodation/ Service is required).

  • Given IEP is not selected on the Student Profile, then will will not show IEP under Academic Needs

504 Status

  • Given 504 is selected from the student profile, then we will list IEP under Academic Needs

  • Given a student has a 504 Plan on the Student Risk Report, we will include a hover/click labeled details that reveals the Accommodations and Services selected for the 504 Plan (at least one Accommodation/ Service is required).

  • Given 504 is not selected on the Student Profile, then will will not show 504 under Academic Needs

Gifted Status

  • Given Gifted is selected from the student profile, then we will list Gifted under Academic Needs

  • Given a student has Gifted on the Student Risk Report, we will include a hover/click labeled details that reveals the Accommodations and Services selected for Gifted (at least one Accommodation/ Service is required).

  • Given Gifted is not selected on the Student Profile, then will will not show Gifted under Academic Needs

Other Details Category

  • Given Free/ Reduced Lunch (FRL) is selected from the student profile, then we will list FRL under Other Details

  • Given Homeless is selected from the student profile, then we will list Homeless under Other Details

  • Given Free / Reduced Lunch (FRL) and/or Homeless is not selected from the Student Profile, then we will not show it listed under Other Details category.

  • Given both Free / Reduced Lunch (FRL) and Homeless are not selected from the Student Profile, then we will not show the heading: Other Details.

User Story

As a teacher viewing the risk report, I need to see a complete picture of the student, their progress, and their specific needs in each of the categories (ELA, Math, SEL, Behavior, Attendance) so that I can create interventions and supports to help the student meet their potentialhave success at school.
