As a teacher, I want the option to turn on data collection for myself, so I do not have to re-enter this information elsewhere.
As a teacher, I want the option to select from a list of existing behaviors, so setup is easier
As a teacher, I want the option to enter a custom behavior if nothing in the menu appeals to me, so I can ensure I am tracking the correct behaviors for my students
As a teacher, I want to use the same behaviors that are contained within the student(s) Behavior contract so I can keep all aspects of the plan consistent.
As a teacher whose class travels to related arts classes, I want a self monitoring tool that will collect data for the student(s) self-monitoring plan from all of their related arts classes so that I may compare my student(s) behavior throughout the day.
Acceptance Criteria:
Given the user has access to the MTSS product with all tools or Self-Monitoring within the Behavior suite and selects Self-monitoring from the left navigation, the user can open the Create a Self-monitoring tool.
Given the individual student has an existing behavior contract(s), the list appears beneath Create a Self-Monitoring Tool in order of the most recent first and have access to view.
Given the student has existing behavior contract(s) clicking Apply preloads the behavior selection items into the field(s) for Select Behavior.
Given the user selects the location field, the drop down list appears and the user selects desired choice with a click.
Given the user is creating a self-monitoring tool for a student within their class roster, the teacher’s name is the the default setting for the Teacher’s Name field.
Given the user selects interval as a measuring tool, Set interval will appear.
Given the user selects Text and Visuals, select image appears.

There are 3 ways to navigate to Create Self-Monitoring Tool:
From Behavior
The user will click on Create new tool on the Tier 2 or 3 screens.
Team members with permissions to regions will need to indicate which region, building, classroom, and student they would like to create the Self-monitoring tool for from a selector once they click on Create new tool
Team members with permissions to multiple buildings will need to indicate which building, classroom, and student they would like to create the Self-monitoring tool for from a selector once they click Create
Team members with permissions to multiple classrooms will need to indicate which classroom and student that they would like to create a Self-monitoring tool for
Then the user will start the tool for that student
From a Classroom
From the classroom page, the user will select Behavior Tools from the left-side navigation menu.
Then they will select View monitoring from Tier 2 or 3
Then they will select Create new tool from monitoring page
They will then see a popup where they must select the student
monitoring tool selected and has permission to add/edit behaviors, they will see the Create new tool button in the behavior, classroom, and student behavior dashboard
Given the user has access to the MTSS product with all tools or Self-monitoring tool selected but does not have permission to add/edit behaviors, they will not see the create new tool button in the behavior, classroom, and student behavior dashboard
Given the user does not have access to the MTSS product with all tools or Self-monitoring tool selected and has permission to add /edit behaviors, they will not see the create new tool button in the behavior, classroom, and student behavior dashboard
Given the user has access to multiple regions, the user will see all the regions that they have access to in the dropdown once they click on Create new tool
Given the user has access to multiple buildings, the user will see all the buildings that they have access to in the dropdown once they click on Create new tool
Given the user has access to multiple classrooms, the user will see all the classrooms that they have access to in the dropdown once they click on Create new tool
Given the user has access to multiple students, the user will see all the students that they have access to in the dropdown once they click on Create new tool
Given the user selects interval as a measuring tool, Set interval will appear.
Given the user selects Text and Visuals, select image appears.
Given a student has an active self-monitoring tool for a given location at a time, the user will not be able to create another tool for that location
Given a student does not have an active self-monitoring tool for a given location, the user will be able to create a self-monitoring tool for that location
Given a user hovers or clicks over the information icon for checklist, rating scale, interval, set interval, student facing question the information box will show.
Given a user selects interval, the set interval field will show the drop down containing a custom entry field.
Given user clicks on create a tool for a specific student from any of the dashboards, the student’s name will autofill at the top of the Create a tool screen.

Existing Self-Monitoring Tool
If Activate button is selected and an existing Active Self-Monitoring is in place for the same Location or Activity, then Activate Error Message (see image) is shown.
If Yes is selected from pop-up, then the classroom list is shown.
If Cancel is selected from pop-up, then request is canceled and user sees screen beneath it.
If Activate button is selected and no existing Active Self-monitoring is in place for the same Location or Activity, then the Activate Error Message does not show.
Select Measurement Tool
Design
The user must select a measurement tool
User selects a measurement tool by clicking in the box
User hovers or clicks on the info icon to reveal more about each measurement tool.
If the user hovers over checklist the info popup will say The student will be asked if the behavior did or did not occur
If the user hovers over rating scale the info popup will say The student(s) rate their behavior on a scale from 0-4.
If the user hovers over interval the info popup will say The student will be prompted to answer questions about their behavior during regular intervals
If the user selects interval, the Set Interval dropdown will appear next to Select Measurement Tool
Business Rules
Selecting/deselecting measurement tools works as a checkbox. Only one measurement tool can be selected.
Users select the measurement tool by clicking inside the box
The info icon is a hover/click select state that reveals more information about each measurement tool.

Set Interval
The set interval dropdown will appear if the user selects interval as their measurement tool
User selects from the drop down or enters a custom value for the Set Interval field.
User hovers/selects on the info icon to reveal more about the Set Interval field.

Set Interval is a drop down that lists options in increments of 5 minutes to 60 minutes with a custom entry listed last.
Users may custom enter Set Interval from 1 minute to 500 minutes.
Set interval contains an info icon when hovered or clicked reveals the following: “The frequency at which the student is prompted to self-assess.”
This field is required to activate or print data sheets if interval is selected
Select Display
Design
Users customize the display for the student monitoring tracker by selecting one of two choices from dropdown: Text Only or Text and Visuals.
If user selects Text and Visuals, the Select Image search field appears.

Select Behavior
Design
Users select a behavior(s) from a drop down menu to include in self-monitoring tool for the student or custom enter their own item.
User can search for the keywords in a given behavior goal
Users have options to select from My Custom Behaviors which appears first and are behaviors previously selected or entered by the user.
The last selected behavior will be at the top of the custom behaviors
Users can add to their customized list by selecting an item from the Behavior List bank.
Users can add another behavior by clicking +Add another behavior below
Business Rules
Select behavior is a drop down field and an automatic search feature as user types.
Previous user goal selections or custom goals created from Behavior Plans, Intervention Plans carry over and appear first under My Custom Behaviors within the Select behavior drop down.
Users can add additional custom behaviors by selecting the add custom behavior.
Drop down contains the Behavior list bank (this is coming later).
Selecting from the Behavior Bank adds that item to the My Custom Behaviors List within the drop down..

Student-facing question

Once the goal is selected, a default student-facing question will show

Select Image

To search for a behavior, user types in Search behavior field.

To remove the custom entry, user clicks on X.
To add the custom entry to the list of behavior for the student, user clicks on Add.
Custom entry is at the bottom when user first enters it and then becomes part of the alphabetical list upon subsequent visits to the behavior drop down.
To add an additional behavior goal, user clicks on +Add another behavior goal.
Once the user adds the behavior, they can remove it by clicking x. The whole added section will be removed. The first goal will not have an X as each tool must have at least one goal
To select time, user clicks on down arrow and chooses from Consecutive Days or Consecutive Sessions.
Business Rules
Drop down contains the Behavior list bank (this is coming later).
Select Behavior drop down is used in Intervention Plans, Self-Monitoring, Behavior Contracts, Data Tracking (Behavior Tracking), and Behavior Plans.
Previous user goal selections and custom goals created from Intervention Plans, Behavior Contracts, Data Tracking (Behavior Tracking) and Behavior Plans, carry over and appear within the Select behavior drop down.
Select behavior is a single select drop down field (See images: unselected and Single select)
Search behaviors has an automatic keyword search feature as user types. (See image: Auto-search)
Spreadsheet for keyword search will be provided.
Users can add additional custom behaviors by selecting the add custom behavior. (see image: Add Field)
If user types a custom entry into the field and selects Add, then the item becomes part of the alphabetical ordered list of behaviors for that student. (See images: Add custom, Custom added/selected)
At time of custom entry, the custom entry is shown in a selected state.
If user select X, then custom entry is removed.
Custom entries follow the student.
If a user custom enters a behavior for a selected student and that selected student is part of multiple classrooms, those custom entered behaviors will appear on that student’s behavior list.

Each tool must have one goal and it cannot be removed
Added goals can be removed by clicking on X
Select Time (See image: Select Time)
Time selections include: Consecutive Days or Consecutive Sessions
Consecutive days is calculated by taking the average of the selected date range.
Example: Mastery-maintain 100% Yes answers across 2 days
Day 1: Session 1: yes, Session 2: No---Day one 50%
Day 2: Session 1: yes, Session 2: yes---Day 2 100%
Day 3: session 1: yes, Session 2: no--Day 3 50%
Day 4: session 1: yes, Session 2: yes---100%
Day 5: Session 1: Yes, Session 2: yes--100%-Mastery met across day 4-5.
Consecutive sessions is calculated by counting up each of the consecutive sessions.
Example: Mastery-maintain 100% Yes answers across 5 sessions.
Day 1: Session 1: yes, Session 2: No-no mastery
Day 2: Session 1: yes, Session 2: yes-no mastery
Day 3: session 1: no, Session 2: yes-no mastery
Day 4: session 1: yes, Session 2: yes--no mastery

Student-facing question
Design
User sees Student facing question with prompt to text enter and information icon.
To view information icon, user clicks on it or hovers over it.
User text enters a question in the Student-facing question field.
Business Rules
This field is required to activate or print data sheets
This field is editable
User is prompted with Type question in the student facing question field. (See image: Student Facing Question)
User’s text entry fills the field.
The max characters for the field is 80 characters if the tool is for grades 6-12 students and 50 characters for grades prek-5
If typed entry exceeds the limit, then only the characters up to the limit will show.
If user hovers or clicks on information icon, the tool tip will show.
The tool tip reads: Tool Tip: Type a behavioral question for your student to see. Example: “Did I complete my assignments?”
Select Image
Design
User clicks on dropdown and selects an image
This image will show as the image that accompanies the given student-facing question
Once the image has been selected, it will show under the student-facing image to the right of the Select image dropdown
The user can remove the image by clicking the X
Business Rules
Only one image can be selected for each goal
Select image only shows if the user has selected Text and visuals for Select display
% Goal
Design
User selects from the drop down or custom enters a percentage goal for the % Goal field.
The user will then select over what number of what time period
When the user clicks on number they will see 1-50 but they can type in numbers up until 99
When the user clicks on time period, they will select from consecutive days, or sessions
Goal % Icon
User hovers/selects on the info icon to reveal more about the % goal.
Business Rules

If user hovers over or clicks Goal % icon and user is creating self-monitoring using checklist, or interval for an older student, then the tool tip will read: Tool Tip: Set the goal for the expected % of “Yes” responses. (See image: Younger student-all/Older student checklist and interval)
If user hovers over or clicks Goal % icon and user is creating self-monitoring using Rating Scale for an older student, then the tool tip will read: Tool Tip: Set the goal for the expected % of “Always” or “A lot” responses. (See image: Older student -Rating scale)
Add Behavior
Design
If the user selects to add behavior, the user will see the added Select Behavior to Increase, Select image, Goal %, Number, and Time
Once the user selects the goal, they will see the student-facing question suggestion that can be modified
Once the user adds the behavior, they can remove it by clicking x. The whole added section will be removed. The first goal will not have an X as each tool must have at least one goal

Select goal, image, goal %, number, and time will be added each time the add Behavior button is clicked

Preview
Design
Once the user has made all their selections they will see the preview in the preview box
If the student is prek-5 student, the teacher will see the Prek-5 UI
If the student is grade 6th through 12th student, the teacher will see the 6th-12th UI
Teachers will see the student-facing, student interaction point of the measurement tool
Any changes the teacher makes will be reflected in the preview area
Business Rules
This field will show once all fields are selected
If the student is prek-5 student, the teacher will see the Prek-5 UI

Delete and X messages
UI
Teachers will see the student-facing, student interaction point of the measurement tool

UI: Buttons
User selects options for their work by clicking on the buttons.
Selecting cancel opens the warning prompt.
Selecting Preview opens the preview screen for the self-monitoring plan.
Selecting Edit Draft allows the user to edit their work.
Selecting Save draft allows the user to save their work and re-open it at another time.
Activate begins the plan.
Selecting Cancel opens where user can cancel their work on the Create a Self-monitoring tool by selecting Yes, I’m sure or returning to the Create a Self-monitoring tool by selecting Resume.
Business Rules
Buttons trigger the following actions:
Cancel activates the warning pop-up.
Preview opens the preview screen (build this?)
Edit draft makes all the fields available to edit but keeps the previous selections if user makes no changes changes.
Save draft saves the draft as is. (need draft state as a status for self-monitoring tools)
Activate activates the self-monitoring plan.
Selecting Yes, I’m sure from the warning pop-up deletes the work on the Create a Self-monitoring tool screen.

User clicks on delete button.
Users sees warning message.
To resume work on the page, user selects Resume button.
To delete the work on this page, user selects Yes, I’m sure from pop-up.
X out of Screen
User selects X from top right.
User sees warning pop-up.
To save their work, the user clicks on Save as a Draft button from pop-up.
To return to the page beneath without saving, user clicks on Return to page or the X on the pop-up.
To delete the work on the page, user selects Delete the work from the pop-up.
Business Rules:
Delete Button
Clicking delete button triggers warning message.
If resume button is clicked, the work is NOT deleted and page beneath is restored.
If Yes, I’m sure is clicked, the work on the page is deleted.
If X is clicked on pop-up message, the work is NOT deleted and page beneath is restored.
X out of Screen
Clicking X in the top right corner without saving triggers the pop-up.
If Save as a draft button is clicked, the work is saved and the screen closes.
If X is clicked from the pop-up, the screen beneath is restored without saving.
If delete the work is clicked, the work on the page is deleted and the screen closes.
