We need a way to see an overall picture of the student’s progress in SEL / Mental Health and Well-Being
User Story
As a teacher user, I need to see a full picture of the student’s academic performance in SEL so that I can provide the student with appropriate tools and intervention plans to help them reach their potential in this content area.
UI
The user will see tabs for ELA, Math, Behavior, SEL, and Attendance
The user clicks the SEL tab.
Suggested functionality
To select multiple years or multiple testing seasons (Fall, Spring), the user clicks on the year drop down and clicks on boxes for their selection.
Acceptance Criteria
Changing Semesters (Fall and Spring)
We need to determine what triggers the change from the first semester to the second.
Suggest: The start of the Fall Semester begins with the School Year Start date selected in Define School Year Settings.
Suggest: The Fall Semester ends and the Spring Semester Begins when…..
Suggest: The Spring semester ends with the School Year End date selected in Define School Year Settings. .
Follow same rules for top section containing the student demographics, Academic Needs, Other Details and the Year Selector drop down explained in Overview.
We will use Student Self-Assessment to determine Tier Levels. See: SEL | Cut Scores | Settings | MTSS Report.
Changing Years
Dev feedback: User’s have functionality now to multi-select years to see progress over several years-don’t want to lose functionality with a new design.
This brings us back to Jrich: Start New School Year for MTSS Products.
Suggested Functionality-See image: Drop Down
The drop down will default to showing the current year’s results.
The bar graph will show a bar for each season selected and the chart below will show the data for each of the seasons selected.
Given the student has taken the Student Self Assessment over multiple years and/or multiple Seasons (Fall, Spring), then we will show the Year and Seasons listed in the drop down from the most recent to the least recent.
Example shows student who has taken the Student Self Assessment for two school years.
Given user has selected the box containing the school year, then both boxes for the Seasons will be checked automatically. (See image: Drop Down)
Given user has checked specific seasons that are from different school years, then we will show those selections in the graph and in the chart below.
User Story

Tier Notices
User Story
As an educator who is creating and managing many student’s SEL Intervention Plans, I need a notice telling me when a student’s test score indicates that they are not a Tier 1 so that I can focus my attention on the students who are most in need of an intervention.
UI

To create an intervention plan, the user clicks on Take Action button within the Tier Notice.

Given the student’s score on the Fall and/or Spring assessment falls within the Tier 2 range and the student DOES NOT have an intervention plan (Tier 2 or Tier 3) in the Pre-Planning or In-Progress statuses, then the Tier 2 Notice will show.
Given the student score on the Fall and/or Spring assessment falls within the Tier 3 range and the student DOES NOT have an intervention plan (Tier 2 or Tier 3) in the Pre-Planning or In-Progress statuses, then the Tier 3 Notice will show.
