1.1.3.2 Notifications | Approval Process | Behavior Plan | Behavior Suite

We need to notify team members of requests for approval and status changes for behavior plans.

 

User Stories:

  • As an administrator who approves Behavior Plans, I need a notification for when a team member needs me to review a pending approval Behavior Plan so that the approval process is completed quickly.

  • As a special education supervisor who creates Behavior Plans, I need a notification for when the a behavior plan has been made active so that I can begin implementation of the plan.

 

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Given I am a user with access to MTSS interventions (all tools or Behavior Plans and Behavior Tracking enabled) and permission to Behavior Support → Receive Alerts, I will receive a notification for status change to a Behavior Plan for students that are assigned to me.

  • Given I am a user with access to MTSS interventions (all tools or Behavior Plans and Behavior Tracking enabled) and permission to Message Center → Read/Send Messages, I will receive a notification for status change to a Behavior Plan for students that are assigned to me.

  • Given an admin has not created a specific behavior plan but has edited or approved it, a notification specifying the action and a link to view the behavior plan will be sent to the creator of the behavior plan.

  • Given a non-admin selects View to view an approved, or edited behavior plan, the link takes them to the Inactive tab for that specific student’s Student Report.

  • Given a non-admin user selects Submit for approval, then the admin user will receive a review request notification.

  • Given an admin user selects view from the review request notification, they are shown Documents for Review with the most recent request shown at the top of the page and remaining listed from most recent to least recent.

  • Given admin user selects Review for a specific behavior plan from Documents for Review, they are shown the behavior plan with the pending approval tag.

  • Given a teacher with access to the student sends the notification to the family member(s), the family member(s) will see the link to view the active behavior plan.

  • Given the family member has clicked the link to view the active behavior plan, they will only view and not be able to edit the behavior plan.

  • Given a teacher with access to the student sends the notification to the student, the student will see the link to view the active behavior plan.

  • Given the student has clicked the link to view the active behavior plan, they will only view and not be able to edit the behavior plan.

Teacher Notifications

UI:

  • User sees notification of a status change or editing to Behavior Plans they created.

(Inbox message Possibilities)

 

  • To view the active behavior plan, user clicks on View.

  • Upon selecting View, user is shown the active behavior plan.

Sending Behavior Plan to Student/Parent

  • To send a copy of the active behavior plan to the student and/or family, user clicks on drop box next to send and selects who will receive a link to the active Behavior Plan and then selects Send button.

 

 

Business Rules:

  • Users with access to MTSS Interventions (all tools or Behavior Plans and Behavior Tracking enabled) and permission to Behavior Support → Receive Alerts will receive notification for changes (Status changes, Editing) made to the behavior plans they created.

  • If a behavior plan has been activated by the admin, then the notification contains a link to the behavior plan with the Active Tag. (See image: Active Behavior Plan)

  • If an admin has edited the behavior plan, the creator of the behavior plan sees the notification: Your behavior plan has been edited by [Admin name]. (See image: Inbox Message possibilities)

    • Follow same logic as Contracts.

  • If an admin has not edited the behavior plan and only made it active, then the creator of the behavior plan sees the notification: Your behavior plan is active. (See image: Inbox Messages)

Sending Behavior Plan to Student/Parent

  • If user selects a name(s) of the student and/or parents of the student from the drop box and then selects the Send button, then a copy of the the active behavior plan is sent to the selected people.

  • Sending to Student/parents works the same way as Contracts. (See: View Contract in Business rules look for Sharing Active Contract)


Admin Notifications

UI:

  • Admin user sees review notification of behavior plan from team member.

 

 

  • To view a pending approval behavior plan, user clicks View from inbox message.

  • Upon selecting View, user sees Documents to Review and behavior plan with the Pending Approval status.

 

  • To Review the behavior plan, user clicks on Review and is shown a pending approval behavior plan sent by the team member.

 

Business Rules:

  • Admin users with access to MTSS interventions (all tools or Behavior Plans and Behavior Tracking enabled) and permission to Behavior Support → Approve Reports, will see Approve Button on Pending Approval Behavior Plans. (See Approval Process- Approve Plan)

  • If a non-admin user submits a behavior plan for approval, then the behavior plan will be listed on the Admin’s Documents for review page. (See image: Documents for review)

  • If admin user selects View from notification, then Documents for review is shown. (See image: Documents for review)

  • If user clicks on Review button, the Behavior Plan is shown with the Pending Approval tag. (See image: Pending Review Behavior Plan)

 

 

 


Family Notification

UI:

  • Family members see notification of behavior plan in inbox if teacher has shared it.

  • Family members see notification of behavior plan in it’s active status.

 

  • To view the active behavior plan, user clicks on View.

  • Upon selecting View from the inbox message, user sees the behavior plan in it’s active status.

 

 

Business Rules:

  • Family members attached to the student with access to MTSS interventions (all tools or Behavior Plans and Behavior Tracking enabled) will see active behavior plans.

  • If a teacher assigned to the student sends the family member(s) a notification to view the behavior plan, then the family member will see the notification in their Inbox.

  • If view is selected, then the user sees the active behavior plan in just a view state.

    • Family members can only view the current active behavior plan and cannot edit it.

    • No links to view data are shown on the view only.

 


Student Notification

UI:

  • Student sees notification of behavior plan in it’s active status if teacher has shared it.

 

  • To view the active behavior plan, the student clicks on View.

  • Upon selecting View from the Inbox, student sees their behavior plan in it’s active status.

 

 

Business Rules:

  • If a teacher assigned to the student sends the notification to view the behavior plan to the student, then the student will see the notification in their Inbox.

  • If teacher assigned to the student does not send the notification, then the student will not see the notification in their Inbox.

  • If view is selected, then the user sees the active behavior plan in just a view state.

    • Students can only view the current active behavior plan and cannot edit it.

    • No links to view data are shown on the view only.
