Pre-Populate SEL Activities & Videos

We need to pre-populate the Student Center Activities & Videos section with SEL content. This content should not be assigned to the student & teachers must still be able to assign.

Student Center

Design

  • Under the Activities tab, students will see all SEL lesson activities for all SEL domains

  • Under the Videos tab, students will see all SEL lesson videos for all SEL domains

Business Rules

  • We will show all Tiers 1 & 2 SEL activities and videos based on the student’s grade. Meaning, if the student is in grade 3, they will see the grade 3 activities & videos.

  • This is true for all accounts with SEL SEL licenses allocated.

  • These activities & videos will show by default under the activities and videos tab, but will not be assigned to the student. Think of this more like a library for the students.

  • Educator users (i.e. teachers, leads, etc) must still be able to assign SEL activities & videos from the libraries. This means that even though a video is showing under the Videos tab, a user may still ASSIGN that same video to a student. The assigned video will show under due today until the student views the video. However, this video will only show once under the videos tab (we should not see duplicates if it was assigned). The same is true for the SEL activities.

  • If the student’s grade changes, the videos & activities will be updated accordingly. Meaning, if my student is moved to the 4th grade, all pre-populated activities and videos for grade 3 will be replaced by those from grade 4.

  • If an activity or video is removed from our library, it will no longer show in the student center.

  • If a new activity or video is added to our library, it will also be added to the student center based on the student’s grade.
