New Student Center

Description

The RethinkEd Student Center allows students to interact with RethinkEd content that is assigned to them, explore available content for their grade level or grade band, spend behavior points, and interact with their behavior tools (Goal Zone).

Acceptance Criteria

  • Younger and Older Student Versions

    • We need to support the younger student and older student versions of the Student Center. In the future, the younger and older student centers will have different features.

    • The updated Student Center UI described in the requirements and designs are the same for the younger and older student centers. We should maintain the separation of the younger student and old student versions so that they can have different features in the future.

  • Tab Icons (Assignments, Explore, Goal Zone):

    • Font Awesome icons

    • Assignments: fa-paper-plane

    • Explore: fa-books

    • Goal Zone: fa-stars

  • Content Accessibility

    • Students must be able to access all assigned content including text, videos, interactive worksheets, and assessments without any technical issues.

    • Content must be compatible with standard web browsers and mobile devices.

  • User Authentication and Authorization

    • The system must authenticate student identities before granting access to the Student Center.

    • Students should only be able to access content that is relevant to their coursework and educational level.

  • Interactive Elements

    • All interactive elements (e.g., quizzes, fillable worksheets) should function correctly, capturing and saving student inputs in real time.

  • Progress Tracking

    • The platform must track and visually display the student’s progress through the course content.

  • Discussion and Communication Features

    • Students must be able to use communication tools such as discussion panels to interact with teachers.

    • Notifications for new messages or discussion replies should be clearly visible and prompt within the Student Center inbox.

  • Multimedia Functionality

    • All multimedia content (audio, video, animations) should play without errors and include accessibility features such as captions and transcripts.

  • Assignment Submission

    • Students must be able to submit assignments through the platform with confirmation of submission received.

Workflow Description

  1. Student navigates to the Student Center.

  2. User selects My Assignments tab from the tab options: My Assignments, Explore, Goal Zone.

  3. User selects a content card and the player for the resource or activity displays on the screen.
