Future Iterations of MTSS Dashboard
For organization sake (for now), let’s break this up into areas including:
MTSS Dashboard
Attendance Intervention Plan
User Story: As an admin or teacher, I need to have an option to create an Intervention Plan specifically for Attendance (Absences and Tardies) so that attendance struggles can be addressed.
Additional Information: There is no intervention plan for attendance. When the user selects Take Action from a Tier Notice, we take the user to the Intervention Plan tab showing the 4 options (ELA, Math, Behavior, SEL) and the User picks from those options and the Intervention Strategy choices within them. Whatever they choose or choose nothing results in the same thing--The Tier Notice remains. This would require a big lift from the Content Team to create Intervention Strategies for Attendance.
Behavior: Combine Integrated and Non-Integrated Incidents
User Story: As an admin or teacher who uses RethinkEd’s Incident Product AND integrates Behavior Incidents, I need a way to combine the two collection types into one graph/chart so that all Behavior Incidents will be included for each student.
Additional Information: Currently in production if the district has both RethinkEd’s Incident Product and also integrates Behavior, the Integrated Behavior shows up on the District Dashboard and the incidents recorded using RethinkEd’s Incident Product show up in the Student Dashboard and Classroom Dashboard.
Behavior: Customized Reporting Form (Feature Request)
User Story: As a school district leader who reports Major Behavior Incidents to the state using a form with specific contents, I need a way to create that form and include the Behavior data from Rethink so that the process of preparing required documentation will be easy.
Additional Information: This is feature request from several years ago. Part of the hesitation in using our Incident Product is the inability to create required state documentation for incidents. The complexity is growing with the request of combining integrated and non-integrated behavior data and the functionality we have build for including custom fields. Custom fields at this time do not have any additional functionality to them meaning we can’t count occurrences of a specific value for a custom field or any other calculation. We would also need to research state documentation for reporting incidents which could differ widely.
Behavior: Custom Field Functionality
User Story: As a school district leader who elected to integrate Behavior Incident data, I need a way to add functionality to the custom fields (counting the number of times a value occurs, and have options to adjust settings) I included so that I can analyze data that is unique to my district.
Additional Information: This request is at the very beginning and will most likely need to be revisited as more MTSS District Partners are added.
Similar Epics for Behavior:
Epic 161884: Incident Admin reports Revamp
Epic 162084: Incident type report codes by State
Epic 162085: Incident Report Data Export .CSV
Student Dashboard ELA and Math: Sub-test scores and Intervention Plans
User Story: As an admin or teacher I need a way to expedite the creation of Intervention plans by knowing which sub-sets matches to established categories within the content areas (ELA and Math) so that the intervention plan targets the areas where the student is most in need.
Additional Information: This is dependent upon new development for Intervention Plans and matching skills to common core standards across states. It is also dependent upon identifying fields within multiple test providers that can be used to show a sub-set score. This would have great value in selecting groups of students with the same need and having the option to customize for each student individually. More time and more MTSS District partners may be needed before this item can be considered.
Student Dashboard SEL Tab: Assigning Content Automatically
User Story: As a teacher who manages the SEL growth for all students within my classroom, I need a way automatically assign SEL Content that is targeted to each student’s specific needs so that getting the students the help they need is quick and easy.
Additional Information: This is a request from Leadership. Some initial ideas are brewing. Tara’s suggestion is to pin-point the sub-set for SEL where the student scored the lowest and assign that content. It would require matching the sub-set to the content (this is probably existing) for each of the grade levels where the SEL Assessment is available (Grades 3-12). This is at the very beginning of discovery with many questions to answer:
Can teacher/admin preview content ahead of time?
Can teacher/admin select/deselect from the content suggestions?
Could this/should this be tied to an Intervention Plan for SEL?
What if there are multiple sub-sets for SEL that fall in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 range-should multiple sub-sets be assigned?
Settings are source of truth for Overall Tier level- adjustments to settings for when to assign content automatically?
Can we/should we Auto-assign All students?
Total Score is some sort of weighted average. Asked Devs about this but there is no time to explore it right now.
Student Dashboard SEL Tab: Assign SEL Self-Assessment to entire Class from MTSS Dashboard
User Story: As a classroom teacher I need to be able to assign the Self-Assessment to my entire class simultaneously rather than individually so that I make the best use of my time.
Additional Information: Currently the Student Self-Assessment can be assigned to individual students from the Student Dashboard SEL tab by selecting the Assessment button. If the User wanted to assign it to their entire class with MTSS Dashboard, they would need to individually assign it one student at a time.
Student Dashboard SEL Tab: K-2 Students
User Story: As a teacher in the primary grades (K-2), I need to have a screener that identifies students with SEL needs when they are younger so that intervention help can be provided sooner.
Additional Information: The SEL Self-Assessment begins at grade 3. Should we have a screener for students in grades K-2?
