We will add an option to complete/view assessments on the Classroom and Group Dashboards. This will allow users to quickly access assessments to assign and view results for an entire group of students.

User Stories:

  • As a teacher, I want to see which assessments are available for the students in my class, so I know which assessments I can use.

  • As a teacher, I want to understand what the assessments are used for, so I know which assessments I want to use.

  • As a teacher, I want to know if the assessment has been completed already, so I know what step I’m on.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Given I am a user with access to SEL Lessons and permission to at least 1 of the assessment settings (View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report, Assign SEL Assessments, Rethink Assessment - Edit, Rethink Assessment - View) AND at least 1 student in my class is currently in grades 3-12, I will see the Complete Assessments option on my classroom dashboard.

  • Given I am a user WITHOUT access to SEL Lessons OR WITHOUT permission to at least 1 of the assessment settings (View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report, Assign SEL Assessments, Rethink Assessment - Edit, Rethink Assessment - View) AND at least 1 student in my class IS NOT currently in grades 3-12, I will NOT see the Complete Assessments option on my classroom dashboard.

  • Given I am a user that has clicked on Complete assessments and I have permission to at least 1 of these settings (View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report, Assign SEL Assessments), I will see the Student Self-Assessment block.

  • Given I am a user that has clicked on Complete assessments and I DO NOT have permission to at least 1 of these settings (View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report, View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report, Assign SEL Assessments), I will NOT see the Student Self-Assessment block.

  • Given I am a user that has clicked on Complete assessments and I have permission to either Rethink Assessment - Edit or Rethink Assessment - View, I will see the Classroom Rating Scale block.

  • Given I am a user that has clicked on Complete assessments and I DO NOT have permission to either Rethink Assessment - Edit or Rethink Assessment - View, I will NOT see the Classroom Rating Scale block.

  • Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Rating Scale block and my classroom contains students in both grade bands (3-5 and 6-12), I will see both options in the grade band selector but my view will default to 3-5.

  • Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Rating Scale block and my classroom contains students in one grade band only, I will only see that grade band in the grade band selector.

  • Given I am a user who is viewing the Classroom Rating Scale block, I will see the date the rating scale was last completed for students in the selected grade band.

  • Given I am a user who is viewing the Classroom Rating Scale block, and my students have never been assessed on the rating scale, I will see a last completed date of N/A.

Classroom Dashboard

Design

  • On the Classroom Dashboard, we will show an option called Complete Assessments.

  • Clicking on this will take the user to the Assessment Summary.

Business Rules

  • This will show if SEL student licenses have been allocated to the building assigned to the classroom AND if the user has access to SEL Lessons, AND if at least 1 student in the class is currently in grades 3-12.

  • Users must also have permission to at least 1 of the following:

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report

    • Assign SEL Assessments

    • Rethink Assessment - Edit

    • Rethink Assessment - View

Assessment Summary

Design

  • We will show a box for each assessment with a description of the assessment. and # of students who have a completed assessment our of the number of student eligible for the assessment in the classroom

  • Clicking Classroom Home will take the user back to the main classroom dashboard.

Business Rules

  • The assessments will display based on permission settings (see below)

SEL Student Self-Assessment

UI

  • SEL Self-Assessment will also show a scale representing the number of students with a complete assessment, an in progress assessment, or a not started assessment. When the user hovers on one of these bars, a pop-up will show the number of students for that category (i.e. Not Started 4 students)

  • Clicking Select will take the user to the SEL Student Self-Assessment Status screen.

 

Business Rules

  • Users will see this block if they have permission to at least 1 of the following:

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Item Analysis

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Group Score Report

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Roster Report

    • View Classroom reporting for SEL Assessments Student Report

    • Assign SEL Assessments

  • Number of Students Completed

    • We will show the number of students who have a completed assessment for the current version of the assessment (regardless of when assessment was completed) out of the number of students in the classroom who are currently assigned to the assessment.

  • Status Bar

    • Complete will show the number of students who have completed the current version of the assessment.

    • In Progress will show the number of students who have completed at least 1 question on the current assessment, but have not yet completed it

    • Not Started will show the number of students who are assigned to the current assessment, but have not yet answered any questions.

 

SEL Classroom Rating Scale

UI

  • For the Rating Scale, we will show a grade band selector.

  • The user will select which grade band they want to access (3-5 or 6-12)

  • Once the grade band has been selected, we will show the date the assessment was last completed. If it has never been completed, we will show the date as N/A.

  • Clicking Select will take the user to the Classroom Rating Scale landing page for the grade band selected.

Business Rules

  • Users will see this block if they have permission to at least 1 of the following:

    • Rethink Assessment - Edit

    • Rethink Assessment - View

  • The grade band selector will only show the grade bands (3-5 or 6-12) that correspond to the grades of the students in the class. Meaning, if there are no students in grades 6-12 in the classroom, we will not show 6-12 as an option.

  • If the classroom contains students from both grade bands, we will default to 3-5.

  • If the assessment has never been completed for the classroom, we will show Last completed: N/A

  • If the assessment has been completed for the classroom, we will show the date the assessment was last completed.
