SEL | Classroom View | MTSS Dashboard Report
We need a way for Admin and non-admin with permission to view reports users to see a view the classroom report by SEL so that they can make informed decisions for MTSS Interventions for both the staff and the students in their district. We need to make sure that if the admin has clicked on a classroom from the admin dashboard that they can easily return to the report that they were looking at before they selected the classroom.
For reference: Spreadsheet that gives mapping of SEL assessment categories of scores to tiers: sel_tier_category_score_to_tier_mapping.xlsx**
**Tara will be adding to the SEL assessments that are covered in this spreadsheet.
User Story
As a district level admin overseeing building(s), I need to be able to view my building or district through an SEL only lens.

The title of this tab will change based on the allocated product (SEL-SEL, SEL-Wellness, SEL-Life Skills and Wellness)
Given I am a user at an account where MTSS Dashboard and one of SEL products (SEL-SEL, SEL-Wellness, SEL-Life Skills and Wellness) has not been allocated, I will not see the SEL tab in the Student Dashboard.
Given I am a user who has the SEL-SEL product, all headings and titles will be SEL.
Given I am a user who has the SEL-Wellness product, Wellness will replace SEL in all headings and titles.
Given I am a user who has the SEL- Life Skills and Wellness, Life Skills and Wellness will replace SEL in all headings and titles.
The periods of time for the school year are labeled based on customer selection in the Define School Year Settings Time Period field.
All time periods are defined by Define School Year Settings. This includes:
How many time periods there are per year (e.g., 2 time periods if the customer selects semesters, 3 time periods if the customer selects trimester, etc.).
The start and end dates for the time periods selected.
The start and end dates for the school year.
Follow Define School Year Settings for range of dates indicating the start and stop of a school year
We will use Student Self-Assessment to determine Tier Levels. See: SEL | Cut Scores | Settings | MTSS Report.
Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Report, I will see the most recent assessment in full color directly next to the student names.
Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Report, I will see the most recent assessment, the self-assessment Total Score, and the Intervention Plan column.
Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Report and the students have taken two self-assessments in the current school year, I will see the least recent assessment to the right of the most recent assessment.
Given I am a user viewing the Classroom Report and the students have taken two self-assessments in the current school year, I will see the least recent assessment with faded icons for At Risk/Approaching and faded attention icons.

See above user story for details on Classroom report.
At Risk and Approaching Icon Indicators
User Story
As a teacher or admin user, I need to quickly see if a student’s score is At Risk of dropping to a more intensive tier or if they are Approaching a less intensive tier so that I know which students can benefit from an intervention plan the most.
UI
Tier selections occur in Settings. See image below from Settings to illustrate example of how Risk and Approaching indicator work.
The user navigates to SEL Classroom Report: Classroom Dashboard > MTSS > SEL tab
The user sees the At Risk indicator icon in the classroom report.
The user sees the Approaching indicator icon in the classroom report.
Acceptance Criteria
Image: From Settings shows the default for Tiers for SEL.
Apply these defaults to examples below to understand At Risk and Approaching icons.
Total possible score on Student Self-assessment is 100.
Self-Assessment Scores to Tiers: sel_tier_category_score_to_tier_mapping.xlsx
We will default Tier Levels for benchmarks as follows:
Tier 1: Very High
Tier 1: High
Tier 1: Average
Tier 2: Low
Tier 3: Very Low
The Category Benchmarks (Very High, High, Average, Low, Very Low) are defined by Total Scores by Grade bands:
Grades 3-5
Grades 6-8
Grades 9-12
Self-Assessment Scores to Tiers: sel_tier_category_score_to_tier_mapping.xlsx
At Risk Icons
Tier 1 At Risk icon shows when the total score is within 2 percent of the tier cutoff.
Tier 2 At Risk icon shows when the total score is within 2 points of the tier cutoff.
At Risk icon and Tier Notices can show at the same time.
Given a student scored within 2% of the Tier 1 cut off then we will show both the Tier 2 Notice and the At Risk icon
Given a student scored within 2% of the Tier 2 cut off then we will show both the Tier 3 Notice and the At Risk icon
At Risk icons show for each specific assessment that the student takes for which they are in the At Risk score ranges.
At Risk icons remain in the table chart for the given assessment.
At Risk icons will only show in the next student assessment if the student score is in the At Risk score range.
Approaching Icons
Approaching icon shows when the total score is in the Tier 2 range and within 2 percent of the Tier 1 cutoff.
Approaching icon shows when the total score is in the Tier 3 range and within 2 percent of the Tier 2 cutoff.
Approaching icons show for each specific assessment that the student takes for which they are in the Approaching score range
Approaching icons remain in the table chart for the given assessment.
Approaching icons will only show in the next student assessment if the student score is in the Approaching score range.
Attention Icons
User Story
As a user viewing the Classroom Report SEL tab, I need to see the intervention plans that have been in place or if there is no intervention plan in place so that I will know if we have addressed the student’s needs.
UI
The user sees the Intervention Plan columns on the Classroom Report
Acceptance Criteria
Given user has clicked on an intervention plan button, they will be taken to view the intervention plan.
8 Tier Button variations include:
T2 and T3 Plan-Pre Planning
T2 Plan and T3 Plan In -Progress
T2 Plan T3 Plan -Archived
T2 Plan and T3 Plan- Mastered
Given a student has the same intervention plan in the same status (Pre Planning, In Progress, Mastered, Archived) that extends into another time period (as defined in Define School Year Settings), then we show the same button twice-once in the previous time frame and once in the current time frame.
Given the user changes the status of the plan within the current testing season, we will update the button to reflect the change thus showing only one button with the most current updated status.
The appearance and updates of the Intervention Plan Tier Buttons follows the dates included in the intervention plan and the dates in the Define School Year settings.
We only show one Intervention Plan Tier Button (updates to the intervention plan means updates to the button thus T2 Pre-planning can be replaced with T2 In-Progress) for changes made during the specific date ranges.
Given the date range/time period has passed, then the button in shown in it’s final variation for that time period.
Only one Intervention Plan Tier button will be shown at a time for each given subject area.
Given there are multiple plans in different statuses, the most recent Intervention Plan will be shown according to the date.
If there is an Archived plan and a user begins a new plan that is in Pre-Planning, the Pre-Planning Intervention Plan will be shown instead on the table.
If there is an In-Progress Plan, this plan will be shown by default.
