We need to show all of the specifics for Reading / Language Arts including state and district assessments.

User Story

As a teacher user, I need to see a full picture of the student’s academic performance in iReady ELA so that I can provide the student with appropriate tools and intervention plans to help them reach their potential in this content area.

 

UI

  • To view the iReady Literacy results for a specific student, the user clicks on the iReady tab.

 

Acceptance Criteria

  • We will include the tab for iReady ELA.

  • Given user clicks on iReady ELA, they will be taken to the Student View for that content area.

 

User Story

As a teacher user I need to see a full picture of the student’s academic performance in reading over multiple years so that I will know the history of growth in the past and can better prepare for this year’s upcoming tests.

 

UI

  • To view the iReady results for a specific student in a past year, user clicks on year drop down and selects the year they want to see.

User Story

As a teacher viewing the iReady ELA Tab for a specific student, I need to see a graph and chart that directs my attention to the specific cut points for the grade level of the student so that I can understand the progress the student is making throughout the year.

Graph and Table Features

  • To view the percentile rank and the scaled score for a specific assessment on the graph, user clicks on or hovers over the bar inside the graph.

 

  • To view more information about how Tier Recommendations are determined, user clicks on or hovers over the information icon for Tier Recommendations.

  • To remove the dialog box, user clicks on Close button.

  • To view more information about Percentile Rank, user clicks on or hovers over the information icon for Percentile Rank.

  • To remove the dialog box, user clicks on Close button.

  • We will show Scale Score and Percentile Rank in the hover. (See image: Hover and Quarter)

Information Icons:

Tier Recommendations-Default Settings

  • Given the Settings for Tier Levels are left as the default, then we will show the default tier recommendation when user hovers. (See: Settings | iReady)

    • Tier Recommendation is set by your District Level Administrator and is based upon Percentile Rank. The tier ranges are: Tier 1: 16 or greater, Tier 2: 6 to 15, Tier 3: 5 or below.

Tier Recommendations: Edited Default Settings

  • Given the Settings for Tier Levels have been edited, then we will show the edited version of the tier recommendations when user hovers.

    • Tier Recommendation is set by your District Level Administrator and is based upon Percentile Rank. The tier ranges are: Tier 1: [user edited], Tier 2: [User edited], Tier 3 [User edited].

Percentile Rank

  • Given user hovers/clicks on Percentile Rank information icon, then we will show the definition for Percentile Rank.

    • Percentile rank is a norm referenced score ranging from 1 to 99. It compares students who are in the same nation and grade level. The PR number indicates the percentage of students who score equal to or lower than that of their peers.

 

 

 

 

Intervention Buttons

User Story

As an admin or teacher user who is considering creating a new intervention plan, I need to view current and past intervention plans so that I can assess the effectiveness of past supports to help me determine the best course of action moving forward.

 

 

UI

  • To view an intervention plan, the user clicks on the Intervention Plan button and is taken to view the intervention plan.

 

  • To return from the intervention plan, user clicks on Student Dashboard.

 

Acceptance Criteria

  • Intervention Plan button are the same as is used in Star Reading/ Star Early Literacy.

  • Given user clicks on the Intervention Plan button (See image: Student View-Chart), then they are taken to the intervention plan.

  • Given user clicks on the back button (See image: Intervention Plan), they are returned back to the the student dashboard on the tab where they came from.

 

Notices

User Story

As a teacher or admin user who is reviewing a particular student’s dashboard, I need a notice for when the student’s performance has triggered a tier 2 or tier 3 level and there is no intervention in place so that I can research the possibility of creating one.

 

UI

  • To create an intervention, the user clicks on Take Action button in the notice.

As a teacher or admin user who is reviewing a particular student’s dashboard, I need to see a key that explains the tier levels for my graph so that I will understand where my student is performing in this content area.

  • Given the default settings for Tier Levels have not changed, then we will show the key as:

    • Tier 1: Percentile Rank 16+

    • Tier 2: Percentile Rank 6-15

    • Tier 3: Percentile Rank 5 or below

  • Given the default settings for Tier Levels have been changed, then we will show the key to match the settings. See: Settings | iReady

Graph

  • We will show the ranges for the Tier settings on the graph for the following colors

    • Tier 1: Blue

    • Tier 2: Yellow

    • Tier 3: Red
