  • When scheduling appointments connected to a ‘DPH’ service line, that have a Place of Service of ‘02’ or ‘10’ selected, users will be able to select new options to identify if the session was delivered via ‘Audio and Video’ or by ‘Audio’ only.

  • In response to the Department of Health in Massachusetts (DPH) updated requirements specific to Telehealth Sessions.

  • Code sets for telehealth sessions have been updated from 11 to 15 and 16 depending on how the telehealth session was delivered.

  • For any existing DPH appointments that were created before the feature was released (11/2/2024) that have ‘02’ or ‘10’ as the Place of Service by default the new option will default to ‘Audio and Video’. When running the XML, the old code set (11) will be connected.

  • If you need the new code sets (15 or 16) to be connected to these appointments you will need to go to that appointment and click save.

  • Only new appointments created AFTER the 11/2/2024 release will display the new code sets when running the XML.

Telehealth Type Field in Appointment Details

  • The new field will appear when connecting appointments to a DPH Service line, when selecting either of the place of services:

    • ‘02’-telehealth-other than patient home

    • ‘10’- telehealth-in patient home

  • The ‘telehealth type’ field will only display when ‘02’ or ‘10’ place of service is selected.

XML Codes

When generating the DPH XML report:

Appointments with “audio only” telehealth type will be assigned setting code 15.

 

 

Appointments with an “audio and video” telehealth type will be assigned setting code 16.

 

 

  • For appointments created before this feature release code 11 will be connected.
